Duties

  • To act as team lead for a group of resident helpdesk support staff and technicians from in-house and/or from service contractor
  • To monitor the performance of the resident helpdesk support staff
  • To support end user for their PC (including desktop and notebook computers) /mobile device operating systems (OS), hardware, applications and peripherals
  • To prepare training materials such as manuals and train helpdesk support staff and end users on how to operate PC/mobile device, including OS and other common applications
  • To support, maintain and upgrade PCs/mobile devices and apply patches and updates, etc. to the PCs/mobile devices
  • To support end point protection to PCs
  • To manage deployment of hardware and software to users
  • To provide system support on different software such as Microsoft Windows AD/DNS/DHCP/File & Print Sharing/Quota and virtualization Server infrastructure (e.g. VMWare) etc.
  • To work with internal and external IT system owners to solve technical issues
  • To perform security monitoring, security patch updating and take corrective action
  • To liaise with vendors and coordinate with users during project implementation and system maintenance
  • To prepare and maintain helpdesk materials, such as service catalogue, FAQs
  • To provide technical support services, either on-site, by email or on phone, including but not limited to Microsoft Windows Server, iOS, Lotus Notes,Microsoft Windows for PCs and Microsoft Office applications
  • To evaluate new products and technology
  • To administrate, operate and support Symantec Management Platform (formerly Symantec Altiris) and helpdesk system (ManageEngine ServiceDesk Plus)
  • To conduct other administrative tasks and support activities as requested

Requirements

  • Holder of University degree in Computer Subjects or equivalent
  • At least 8 years of relevant post-qualification working experience
  • At least 4 years of working experience as a System Analyst
  • Possess at least 8 years solid working experiences which shall fall into the following areas:
    • Helpdesk management
    • Troubleshooting and configuration of hardware, such as PC desktops, notebook computers, mobile devices, network equipment and peripherals
    • Microsoft Windows administration and configuration
  • Knowledge of Software (iOS, Windows 7 / 10, Offices 2016, Adobe Acrobat DC, Symantec Altiris, ManageEngine ServiceDesk Plus, Symantec end point protection, Webex, Zoom, VMWare Horizon Client, FileCloud, storage encryption), PC desktop/notebook/ iOS mobile device, and peripheral such as printer, scanner
  • Experiences in supporting these are preferable
  • Holder of MCSE is preferable.
  • Proficiency in both spoken and written Cantonese and English
  • Good Knowledge of PC email software (Lotus Notes, CMSG), mobile email (including MCMS) is preferable
  • The job requires the following mandatory skills:
    • 4 Years x People Management
    • 3 Years x Windows 7/8/10, Work experience with/in the Government and Management and Support of Gov't Systems & Services
    • 2 Years x Anti-Virus Technology, Internet/ Intranet, Lotus Notes Administration & Technical Support, Office Automation and Wireless and Mobile
    • 1 Year x Microsoft Active Directory Administration, Data Encryption Technology, Endpoint Security Solutions, IT Security, Virtual Private Network and Helpdesk Call Handling Technique
