Duties

The proposed staff shall be responsible for providing helpdesk support service and on-site support service on IT applications and IT infrastructure of the government that include, but not limited to, the followings:

  • Assist to handle the in/out of IT equipment and inventories from the Integrated Technology Section (ITS) and Information Technology Management Unit (ITMU);
  • Answer queries and handle problems raised by end users and perform on-site trouble shooting, and fixing problems, and notifying end user on service interruption whenever appropriate;
  • Contact, co-ordinate and collaborate with ITMU technical support staff of the government to solve the problem in case it is still unresolved after carrying out on-site investigations, and to take appropriate follow-up actions to ensure that the problem shall be resolved within the shortest reasonable time frame;
  • Escalate unresolved problems to relevant parties;
  • Coordinate problem reporting and keep track of the progress by updating the latest status of resolved and unresolved problems to end users, following up with end users; and
  • Carry out any other duties as assigned by Assistant Clerical Officers (ACO), Senior Clerical Officer (SCO), Computer Operator I (COpI), Analyst Programmer II (APII), Analyst Programmer I (API) or Systems Manager (SM)

Requirements

  • Diploma/Higher Diploma/Degree holder in Computer Science or equivalent
  • Level 2 or equivalent or above in five subjects, including Chinese Language and English Language, in the HKDSE, OR
  • Level 2 / Grade E or above in five subjects, including Chinese Language and English Language (Syllabus B before 2007), in the HKCEE, OR
  • At least 2 years of relevant post-qualification working experience
  • At least 2 years of working experience as an IT Assistant
  • The proposed staff must have working experience in providing on-site support service on system applications and IT infrastructure to end users.
  • Good communication and skills;
  • Good command of Chinese and English;
  • Self-motivated, independent, diligent, polite, pro-active, fast-learning and good team player;
  • Working at the remote correctional facilities for provision of support services as and when required; and
  • Undergoing integrity check by the government is required.
  • The job requires the following mandatory skills:
    • 1 year x Endpoint Security Solutions, Office Automation, PC LAN Support, Windows 7/8/10, Coordination, Work experience with/in the Government, Helpdesk Call Handling Technique
