The Contract System Analyst (CSA) will conduct system design, lead the implementation of computing facilities, software modules including the AI/ML nowcast models, data processing and quality control, and generation of data products of the system. The CSA is required to take up the following tasks during the contract period:

• System analysis and design to identify areas of improvements / optimizations for the existing system operational platform and data processing workflow
• Assisting procurement of computing and storage facilities including on-premises hardware and cloud servers
• Leading AP(s) in project team and liaising with product users in other Divisions (e.g. forecasters) to enhance or optimise existing workflows of the System and visualization of the nowcast products
• Leading and coordinating AP(s) in project team to implement the System including AI/ML nowcast models to generate the new / enhanced nowcast products for dissemination to public, users in B/Ds and public utilities, as well as weather services in Southeast Asia through the RSMC for Nowcasting website
• Arranging integration tests, real-time trial, evaluation of product availability and verification of performance for the nowcast products
• Providing nursing service, project reports, documentations and conducting handover with training to staff

• Higher Diploma/Degree holder in Computer Science or equivalent
• At least 5 years of relevant post-qualification working experience
• At least 1 year of working experience as a Systems Analyst
• The suitable candidate should be proficient in application development using Python on Linux
• Knowledge and experience in development of machine learning or artificial intelligence applications using Python are preferable
• Experience in Git and GitLab for software development and version control would be an advantage
• A criminal record check will be required and the offer is subject to the results of the criminal record check
