This officer will be responsible for network support and project implementation of IT infrastructure of Animal Management and Animal Welfare Building Complex. The duties include:

• To assist in project management and administrative matters such as project plan tracking, progress report, project expenditure control, tender preparation, contractor's performance monitoring and risk assessment
• To coordinate related activities in IT project lifecycle including user requirement study, procurement preparation, site preparation, system installation, data conversion, user acceptance and training, system nursing and maintenance
• To conduct system analysis and design and produce project reports and specifications
• To prepare and conduct system and user acceptance testing and recommend acceptance
• To devise system and installation standards and maintain operating procedure in line with these standards
• To monitor and report network related system usage and maintain computer networks and data communication environment and to recommend and control the allocation of network resources
• To liaise with related parties for project activities
• To assist vendor(s) in system installation and provide technical support and advices on IT matters
•  To conduct daily network support and trouble-shooting for network related issue
• To monitor the performance of his/her subordinates
• To carry out any other duties as assigned by the supervisor or Project Manager

• Higher Diploma/Degree holder in Computer Science or equivalent
• At least 6 years of relevant post-qualification working experience
• At least 3 years of working experience as a System Analyst
• The staff is required to have at least 3 years of past working experience in / with the bureaux or departments of Hong Kong Government. He / she is required to have solid experience in the followings:
  
  • Network Design and Trouble-shooting
  • Advanced network knowledge in Core Switches, Edge Routers, Firewalls and WiFi equipment
  • System Development, implementation and maintenance
  • IT Tender procurement and evaluation
  • Coordination with contractor(s) and support team in project implementation
  • Outsourcing or Vendor management
  • Contractors performance monitoring
  • Holder of CCNP certificate or equivalent will be an advantage
• The job requires the following mandatory skills:
  
  • 6 Years x CISCO IOS Software & CISCO Products, Network Design, Open Shortest Path First, Router Configuration and Virtual LAN/LAN Switching
  • 3 Years x Coordination, Work experience with/in the Government and Moderate Exposure in Written English
