Duties

To assist the project manager to liaise with contractors/service providers to implement public Wi-Fi services at smart lampposts, footbridges, parks, promenade and pedestrian tunnels under Government-funded and public-private collaboration (PPC) arrangement
To assist the assessment of smart lampposts on the feasibility of installation of radio base stations for mobile services under the PPC arrangement
To liaise with contractors and the vendor of smart lamppost on the technical design, installation and on-going maintenance arrangement to fulfil the related requirements
To liaise with the owners of smart devices installed / to be installed on smart lampposts to ensure proper share use of common components, if any
To liaise with contractors to prepare the technical proposals for radio base stations and Wi-Fi installation in accordance to guidelines set out by the Government
To pay visits to various government venues and liaise with venue manager to review and approve the technical proposals for radio base stations and Wi-Fi installation
To handle complaints and enquiries from the public regarding the Government-funded and PPC Wi-Fi services
To assist in overseeing the on-going operation of the Government-funded and PPC Wi-Fi services including the monitoring of the availability and performance of the services
To assist in providing relevant information and input for the promotion of the Wi-Fi.HK brand

Requirements

Higher Diploma/Degree holder in Computer Science or equivalent
At least 4 years of relevant post-qualification working experience
At least 1 year of working experience as a Systems Analyst
At least 4 years' hands-on experience in implementation of Wireless Technology related project, including hands-on experience in various aspects of Wi-Fi services implementation, such as venue inspection and assessment for public Wi-Fi services provision, Wi-Fi network system design, technical proposal review and service acceptance, etc.
Has exposure in radio base stations and associated equipment, Wi-Fi hardware, software and testing equipment
At least 4 years' experience in site preparation, including the experience of verifying / designing of trunking & cabling system, power points and liaising with the users on the coverage requirements, etc.
Has knowledge of and experience in radio base station installation at lampposts/ poles, associated telecommunication regulations and best practices
Hands-on experience in Wi-Fi system for smart lampposts or other smart device implementation
Hands-on experience on site preparation in government venues, smart lampposts, footbridges, parks, promenade, pedestrian tunnels, etc. is desirable
Work experience in the Government is desirable
Highly desirable to be familiar with the government procedures and code of practices for setting up public Wi-Fi and for provision of access facilities in buildings for the supply of telecommunications and broadcasting services in public streets and government lands/premises
Has knowledge of and experience in preparation of technical proposals, guidelines, papers and reports of Wi-Fi services, and provide secretariat support to project/systems manager
At least 4 years' experience in Internet/Intranet technologies
The job requires the following mandatory skills:
- 4 years x Network Design, Wide Area Network, Wireless Technology, Project Management and Site Preparation Experience
- 3 years x Coordination and Vendor Management
