Duties

  • To oversee the operation of BCFMS and provide technical and administrative support for users
    • Maintain and debug the BCFMS, evaluate BCFMS compatibility with Window 12 on release
    • Operate a helpdesk telephone enquiry hotline and helpdesk email account provided by Digital Policy Office (DPO), handle enquiries on the BCFMS and portable data terminals (PDTs) received by calls and emails
    • Prepare self-installation packages for B/Ds' users and carry on-site system installation, maintenance and support service on a need basis at user B/Ds' sites, such as new system installation, bug-fixing, data restructuring and conversion
    • Provide technical advice and support to B/Ds' users for solution implementation for managing pre-ERKS paper files registered with BCFMS after Central Electronic Recordkeeping System (Central ERKS) implementation. The solutions include continuing to use BCFMS, export BCFMS data to Microsoft Excel format and import BCFMS data to Central ERKS
    • Compile and maintain documentation and program(s) on system maintenance and development
    • Conduct operation and technical training and prepare training materials upon DPO's request
    • Perform system monitoring and tuning, system administration and database administration when need arises
  • To carry out any other duties as assigned by the supervisor

Requirements

  • Level 2 or equivalent or above in five subjects, including Chinese Language and English Language, in the HKDSE, OR
  • Level 2 / Grade E or above in five subjects, including Chinese Language and English Language (Syllabus B before 2007), in the HKCEE, OR
  • Diploma/Higher Diploma/Degree holder in Computer Science or equivalent
  • At least 5 years of working experience as a Senior IT Assistant
  • On-site support at user B/Ds' office required upon request
  • Solid working experience in system implementation and maintenance required
  • Solid working experience in system backup operation and data management required
  • Experience in providing helpdesk support to users required
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills required
  • Experience in conducting user training preferred
  • The job requires the following mandatory skills:
    • 2 years x System Implementation and Maintenance/Support
    • 1 year x System Backup Operation, Data Management, Management and Support of Gov't Systems & Services and Helpdesk Call Handling Technique
