The post provides technical advisory and client liaison services to the project teams of Government B/Ds using GCIS CaaS and enterprise backup services. The major job duties include:

• Assisting the project manager to monitor the operations of the GCIS services in particular on CaaS and enterprise backup services
• Providing technical advice and support to project teams of Government B/Ds using GCIS Container-as-a-Service
• Providing technical advice and support to project teams of Government B/Ds subscribing GCIS backup services and virtualization services (e.g., vCentre, Software Defined Network (VMware NSX-T), hypervisor (ESXi))
• Providing technical advice and support on issues related to GCIS CaaS and enterprise backup services
• Assessing GCIS service requests raised by project teams members and coordinating with GCIS contractor to complete all requests according to agreed schedule
• Coordinating with the project teams to define the migration approach and schedule for the migration of their applications/systems to the new Government data centre complex
• Coordinating and preparing system events notification and maintenance notice to affected GCIS tenants
• Candidate may require to provide support services after office hour

• Higher Diploma/Degree holder in Computer Science or equivalent
• At least 4 years of relevant post-qualification working experience
• At least 1 year of working experience as a Systems Analyst
• Sound knowledge in cloud computing and have at least two-years working experience in server virtualisation environment by using VMware vSphere, Windows Server, RedHat Linux, Storage Area Network (SAN), Web Application Firewall, Load Balancer and Software-Defined Network (VMware NSX-T)
• Sound knowledge on Container hosting and orchestration platform (e.g. Red Hat Openshift Container Platform (OCP) or its community version (OKD)), Open-source SQL database engine (e.g. MySQL and MariaDB) and enterprise grade backup solution
• Knowledge in Traffic Shaper (e.g., Allot), Object Storage and Network Attached Storage (NAS) are definite advantage
• Strong analytic mind and problem solving techniques, and good communication skills
• Hard-working and self-motivated with positive attitudes
• Holder of the following certifications is a definite advantage:
  • Microsoft Certified IT Professional (or equivalent)
  • VMware Certified Professional in Data Center Virtualization 2021 or above
  • VMware Certified Professional in Network Virtualization 2021 or above
• The candidate must be able to communicate in written and verbal English and Chinese to deliver his/her duties
• The job requires the following mandatory skills:
  • 2 years x  Data/File Backup Technology, MySQL, Server Virtualisation Technology,  Technical Architectural Support, Virtual LAN/LAN Switching, Client Service  and Work experience with/in the Government
