Duties

To maintain, enhance, and support the CDW and IDP, including routine operations, performance monitoring, and issue resolution
To integrate new source systems to the CDW, including data extraction, data mapping, interface/API connectivity where applicable, and end-to-end data onboarding
To design, develop, and implement data pipelines (ETL/ELT), including data collection, cleansing, transformation, aggregation, and business-rule calculations to support analytics and reporting
To design and maintain data models and curated datasets for BI consumption (e.g., fact/dimension structures or equivalent), ensuring consistency and reusability across dashboards
To support BI dashboard and report requirements by preparing datasets, calculation logic, and technical specifications to enable cross-data-source analytics
To liaise with users/stakeholders to understand dashboard and analytics requirements, translate needs into technical solutions, and propose feasible implementation approaches
To design and conduct system testing and data validation for new/enhanced dashboards and data pipelines, including test planning, test cases, test execution, defect tracking, and regression testing, to ensure requirements are met
To prepare and maintain technical documentation, including data mappings, data dictionaries, ETL logic, operational procedures, and support/runbooks
To provide production support, including troubleshooting urgent issues, root-cause analysis, and implementing corrective/preventive actions
To perform any other duties related to the above as assigned by the supervisor or the Government Representative from time to time
To provide on-call technical support duties and perform overtime work, including work outside of normal office hours, on Saturdays, Sundays, and public holidays, as and when necessary and upon the request of the Government Representative

Requirements

Higher Diploma/Degree holder in Computer Science or equivalent
At least 3 years of relevant post-qualification working experience
At least 2 years of working experience as an Analyst Programmer
At least three (3) years&;#8217; post-qualification information technology experience, with hands-on experience in data warehouse / BI / data engineering related work
Solid experience in SQL development, including complex queries, stored procedures, indexing concepts, and data validation
Practical experience in building and supporting ETL/ELT pipelines, including data extraction, transformation logic, scheduling, monitoring, and handling data-quality issues
Working knowledge of BI delivery and analytics workflows, preferably with Power BI (e.g., dataset preparation, refresh considerations, and supporting cross-source analysis)
Proficiency in one or more programming/scripting languages such as Python, JavaScript, TypeScript, C#, and common web technologies
Good analytical, problem-solving, and troubleshooting skills, with ability to conduct root-cause analysis and propose effective fixes
Good communication skills and ability to work with business users and technical teams
Good written English and Chinese
Candidates with the following will have an advantage:
- Experience with dimensional modelling and BI data modelling practices
- Experience with data governance concepts (data dictionary, lineage, data quality controls)
- Experience with deployment/DevOps practices (e.g., version control such as Git, release coordination, CI/CD concepts)
- Experience with common ETL/ELT tools or platforms (any mainstream equivalent)
The job requires the following mandatory skills:
- 3 years x Data Administration, Data Architecture, Data Management and Structured Query Language
- 2 years x Production Database Support
- 1 year x Experience in C# programming, Data Warehouse, HTML5, JavaScript Programming, System Implementation and Maintenance/Support, Web Programming, XML, Coordination and Moderate Exposure in Written English
- 6 months x Quality Assurance and Quality Management
