Duties

To develop, update, enhance and maintain website(s) and relevant database(s)
To set up and manage the electronic records of the Section, including document and data collected from schools, and prepared various statistical reports
To design, update and enhance promotional materials and publish them on websites
To assist in photo and video taking and editing for the Section
To provide daily support services including enhancement, contents update and bugs fix/mitigating for the websites and mobile app and to plan, co-ordinate, implement and manage vendors/HKEdCity on various IT projects and activities of the Section
To control or operate network, computer and associated equipment/facilities according to prescribed standards and procedures, monitor their performance and perform routine operator maintenance
To set up workstation or networked equipment, scheduling and monitoring computer equipment installation/relocation and perform site preparation work
To update and maintain inventory records of computer hardware, perform physical checks and assist in their procurement including handling of quotations and collection/handling of disposal equipment, and provide professional advice on software product evaluation
To assist in the Security Risk Assessment and Audit, tackling IT security issues and handling IT-related returns
To leverage artificial intelligence (AI) tools to improve work efficiency, enhance data analysis and support decision-making to meet departmental operational needs
To assist in organising seminars and workshops, and providing technical support for officers
To support ad-hoc duties as required

Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or equivalent
At least 5 years of relevant post-qualification working experience
At least 5 years' post-qualification experience related to application development/maintenance, of which a minimum of 3 years in education field and/or Government services
At least 3 years of working experience as a Systems Analyst
Good knowledge and programming skills in the latest web technologies, including JAVA Script, PHP etc. are required
Good knowledge and experience in web/mobile application development are required
Good knowledge of Windows OS, MS Office, PC hardware & software support are required
Experience in Linux and knowledge and hands-on experience in databases, including MySQL and Microsoft SQL Server are required
Experience in IT procurement is required
Good knowledge in using AI tools to automate tasks, analyses data, or streamline workflows are preferred
Experience in developing VBA macro tools is preferred
Knowledge and hands-on experience in Java or Python web application development are preferred
The job requires the following mandatory skills:
- 3 years x Apache Web Server, Data Management, Documentum, HTML5, JavaScript Programming, Linux System Administration, MySQL, Microsoft SQL Server, Structured Query Language, Windows 7/8/10, Website Administration, Web Programming, Work experience with/in the Government and IT Procurement
- 2 years x System Backup Operation and Tomcat Application Server
- 1 year x PHP programming and Web Hosting, Design and Maintenance
