The proposed staff shall take a management role for oversee the day-to-day operations, maintenance, and strategic planning of the virtualized IT infrastructure and related site work. This role is responsible for ensuring optimal performance, capacity planning, and availability of the VM farm to support business-critical applications. The manager will lead a team of virtualization engineers and coordinate cross-functional activities to align VM resources with organizational needs include but not limited to :

• Develop and execute capacity planning strategies to ensure VM resources meet current and future workload demands
  
• Lead and mentor a team of virtualization engineers and administrators, fostering technical excellence and operational discipline
  
• Manage Mobile Device Management (MDM) solutions to enforce security policies, device compliance, and lifecycle management across corporate mobile and endpoint devices
  
• Oversee Endpoint Detection and Response (EDR) systems to monitor, detect, and respond to endpoint threats, ensuring rapid incident containment and remediation
  
• Collaborate with security, networking, storage, and application teams to ensure integrated infrastructure and endpoint security posture
  
• Implement and maintain operational procedures, standards, and best practices for VM farm, MDM, and EDR management
  
• Coordinate VM farm upgrades, migrations, and expansions with minimal service disruption
  
• Monitor health, performance, and security metrics across VM and endpoint environments; analyze trends and initiate corrective actions
  
• Prepare and present regular reports on VM farm capacity, device management status, security incidents, and operational performance to senior management
  
• Participate in disaster recovery planning and execution for virtualized and endpoint environments
  
• Monitor and lead liaison and implementation work with Architectural Services Department (ArchSD) and Electrical and Mechanical Services Department (EMSD) for building network trunks in correctional facilities and setting up the facilities at new data centre
  
• Ensure the backbone network infrastructure at the data centres with respect to capacity, resilience and scalability is able to meet the operational needs
  
• Ensure the overall IT infrastructure to be implemented shall follow the government IT security policy, infrastructure standards, interoperability framework and best practices
  
• Carry out any other duties as assigned by supervisors

• Higher Diploma/Degree holder in Computer Science or equivalent
  
• At least 10 years of relevant post-qualification working experience
  
• At least 2 years of working experience as a Project Manager
  
• The proposed staff must have working experience in:
  
  • IT infrastructure project management
    
  • Implementation for setting up backbone network
    
• Good communication and interpersonal skills
  
• Good command of Chinese and English
  
• Self-motivated, independent, diligent, polite, pro-active, fast learning and good team player
  
• Working at remote correctional facilities for provision of support services as and when required
  
• Undergoing integrity check by HKPF is required

  • 4 years x Storage Area Network and Server Virtualisation Technology
  • 3 years x IT Security, Virtual Private Network, Project Management and Site Preparation Experience
    
  • 2 years x Network & System Management, Project Management Professional (PMP), TCP/IP, Work experience with/in the Government and IT Procurement
